@ International Center of Photography, New York, NY USA
Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the photo agency Magnum, ICP presents an exhibit of pivotal projects from the careers of 12 of the agency’s contemporary female photographers.

National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC USA
Just days after the National Gallery of Art’s East Building reopens, the museum will debut the first major exhibition to consider both how and why modern artists have used the technique of doubling in their work. Themes ranging from the psychological to the perceptual to self-identity will be at the heart of The Double, featuring the work of Matisse, Duchamp, Gorky, Rauschenberg, Johns, Warhol, and many more.

Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC USA
Since 1996, the Hirshorn has collected art by Yayoi Kusama. During this exhibit, five of Kusama’s works from the museum’s permanent collection, including two of the artist’s transcendent Infinity Mirror Rooms will be on display in tribute to the visionary artist.

Fewer than 35 paintings by Johannes Vermeer are known toda y. In this highly focused exhibit, 6 works are examined, four from NGA’s collection considered to be authentic, and two paintings now known as forgeries.

Edward Hopper spent most of his life in New York City, painting the city through his eyes. This exhibit explores Hopper’s life and works through his city pictures, from his early sketches to his later paintings of urban experiences.

This exhibition offers a new view of Cubism, made famous by artists such as Picasso, by proposing a relationship between the style and the historical tradition of trompe l’oeil painting.

Guggenheim Musuem, New York, NY USA
Known for his sleek figurative style beginning in the 1940s, this exhibit, prepared in consultation with Alex Katz himself, explores a grand retrospective of the 95-year-old painter’s work.

Discover the life of Maya Lin in this biographical exhibition of the architect, sculptor, and environmentalist. Lin is perhaps most known for designing the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in DC.

This is the first exhibition dedicated to Azzedine Alaïa in Provence and a selection of outfits from the designer’s archives. Twenty designs representative of her career evoke her timeless aesthetic and celebrate her legendary career.

An exhibition all about celebrating the bold and exciting creations of Italian couturière Elsa Schiaparelli. Living from 1890–1973, the artist drew much of her inspiration from her close ties to the Parisian avant-garde of the 1920s and 1930s.
